“Between every two pines is a doorway to a new world.”
John Muir – Scottish-American naturalist, author & environmental philosopher
After a day out exploring on the hills and land, we’re sure you will have worked up a healthy appetite. Or if you’re just starting out your day you’ll be looking for a decent breakfast before you go. At Wildland, we understand how food plays an important role in our lives and is a central part to each day.
Whether it’s the super-luxury traditional Aldourie Castle or self-catering deep down some distant Highland’s glen staying in one of our newly-renovated cottages, indulging local foods and drink is just as important a part of your stay.
At Wildland, we are blessed to have some of the finest food sources on our doorstep. We firmly believe in the ‘farm to table’ concept and supporting local businesses; after all the Scottish Highlands has some of the best quality ingredient to offer in the world. Dine on venison shot and butchered by one of our keepers seasoned with herbs from our garden or salivate over hand-dived scallops from one of the local fishermen. The ingredients are endless.
We are proud to be able to offer food experiences in a variety of settings. For example, at Killiehuntly you can meet new people dining round the dinner table family style, or, enjoy a fish barbeque lunch with your fresh catch at the lochside. For those looking for a full immersive experience in understanding the process of getting food to the table, try our ‘Kill it. Cook it. Eat it’ day out with one of our gamekeepers.
And if you have any dietary requirements, don’t worry, you won’t go without. We’re happy to accommodate your needs.
