Wildland is keen to commence restoring Loyal Lodge for guests and plans are advanced to have this property available on a self-catering sole-occupancy basis very soon. At the moment, conceptually, this is a work-in-progress and do visit this page again soon for updates regarding our plans and the status of the work.

However, with its close proximity to the boat house on the shore of Loch Loyal and to the deer stalking on the wider hillsides, Ben Loyal with its refurbished lodge will be the epitome of a Scottish sporting estate – and is already a popular destination for guests staying at nearby Kinloch. The décor for the restored lodge will again offer our signature Scandi-Scot twist that means you will relax in modern comfort at the end of your strenuous day hiking, fishing or stalking the hills that surround you.

We also plan to restore the orchard at Loyal Lodge which has the potential to produce excellent fruit for the jams, chutneys and conserves that we serve everyday at all of the Wildland properties – and which hints towards a milder climate than Highland clichés often suggest.

Restoration of both the lodge and a separate small cottage will start in 2019.

Ben Loyal is another of our Northern Estates’ ‘off grid’ locations. Consequently, we are currently undertaking a feasibility study to ascertain the extent to which the property can generate its own renewable energy from a small-scale hydro scheme backed-up with cutting-edge battery technologies for energy storage. Renewable power is something we will be experimenting with across our portfolio.

As well as shooting and stalking, Loch Loyal also offers exceptional trout fishing and nearby Loch Hackle is a great location to learn dapping for wild trout – it’s a super treat! The estate is ideally sited for sea trout and salmon fishing on other Wildland properties too and we keep boats available on the Loch so that guests can make the most of their time on water.
