As Assistant Chef  at Killiehuntly Farmhouse you will be an integral part of the kitchen. Supporting the Head Chef,  You will embrace the concept of the property itself, and be responsible for all food experiences at the Killiehuntly Farmhouse. You will be a key part of achieving food excellence and quality, within this successful and recognised getaway destination. 


Key Duties

Providing cover for the Head Chef on his days off, working solely within the kitchen. 

Ensuring the overall day to day smooth running and operation of the kitchen by supporting the Head Chef with the management of the kitchen.

Farm to table style cooking, menus guided by Head Chef.

Catering for resident guests, either private or exclusive hire, breakfast, afternoon tea, dinner, and outside dining experiences, for numbers of up to 12 persons.

Delivery of quality food dishes, utilising quality local produce from our in-house estates, gardens and external suppliers.  

Help implement food led Guest Activities and Experiences.

Maintain H&S aspects of the kitchen, including good hygiene and cleanliness.

Be a good communicator, have a positive manner, and the ability to build good working relationships with your colleagues and suppliers alike. Interaction with our guests will also be required on occasions; presenting food dishes to guests and acting as a host.

Be a food ambassador for Killiehuntly Farmhouse alongside our properties and estates.


Personal Attributes

Skilled and experienced chef currently working at Commis – Sous level.

Experience working at 2* Rosette level or above would be highly advantageous.

Passionate about delivering quality guest food experiences and achieving guest satisfaction.

Knowledge of Scottish & European dishes.

A willingness to learn and be inspired by others, growing and developing your existing skills and knowledge.

Be passionate about creating quality inspiring dishes using natural ingredients which are well-presented.

You will be comfortable being front of house on occasion as necessary, acting as a host when presenting food and assisting with ensuring the seamless operation of the kitchen.

Knowledge and experience of foraging would be an advantage. 

Ability to work independently in the kitchen alongside a small friendly front of house team.

Hold a current valid driving license.

Be passionate about the Highlands of Scotland; having first-hand knowledge of the local area would be highly advantageous.

Have a personal interest in creative and active subjects such as design, interiors, high-level cuisine and outdoor pursuits inline with Wildland’s principles.


Other Info

Part Time, working 2 to 3 days per week.

Seasonal from April to November.
