Guests of Wildland, be they in Sutherland or the Cairngorms, find themselves among some of the most beautiful landscapes in Europe or, indeed, the world. These landscapes are just waiting to be explored. We have developed a programme of sustainable and unique experiences to help you discover the wild Scottish Highlands while you stay with us.
Loch fishing
Whether it is the northern waters of Loch Loyal and Loch Hope, or the privacy of a wee loch in the Cairngorms, Wildland offers some wonderful opportunities to find peace with a day on the water.
Rivers
Discover world class salmon & trout fishing. Guests at Aldourie Castle can fish the Ness on the Dochfour and Laggan combined beats. Cairngorms guests can explore the mighty River Feshie, while visitors in Sutherland can take on the renowned Hope system. Outstanding and varied fishing awaits the beginner and the expert alike.
Stalking
Deer management is fundamental to our conservation goals. Heavy herbivore impact degrades forests and stops new trees from growing, which destroys ecosystems. We are delighted to offer opportunities for deer stalking in the Cairngorms, Sutherland and Braeroy in Lochaber.
4x4 Tours
Led by our expert keepers - men and women who know these estates like the back of their hand - our 4x4 tours are a wonderful way to explore vast tracts of wild land in one day. Ride to the top of a mountain and charge through the rushing river, and enjoy a wee cup of tea on the seat of the boot as you gaze across the expanse. 4x4 tours are offered to our guests in the Cairngorms every Monday, and in Sutherland by arrangement.
Pony picnics
Unique to Wildland, this is by far and away the best way to traverse the Cairngorms. Led by our keepers and a trusty pony or two, we set out to find a great spot for a picnic. This activity is available to guests at Killiehuntly and Glenfeshie.
Bike & e-bike hire
Guests at all properties have the opportunity to hire a mountain bike or one of our handy e-bikes to spend the day exploring the wild. Our e-bikes are particularly good fun, taking the edge off some of the Highlands steeper roads.
Nature walks
Led by one of our conservation and wildlife experts, nature walks in the Cairngorms are a wonderful way to discover the sheer diversity of life in our lochs, forests, mountains and wetlands. This activity is available to guests at Killiehuntly and Glenfeshie.
Bespoke experiences
Guests of Wildland with the exclusive use of one or more of our properties can enjoy a range of other bespoke experiences, from private bothy lunches to tented picnics. Our friendly team will be delighted to make your trip to the Highlands one to remember.
