Hope

Opening May 2026 on Scotland’s northern coast, Hope is the latest hotel and exclusive use property by WildLand – set within the vast, coastal landscape of Sutherland, where nature is being carefully restored and protected for the long term. More than a place to stay, Hope introduces a new kind of Highland hospitality. Immersive, conservation-led, and profoundly connected to nature.

Hope brings new life to a historic hunting lodge, now reimagined as an intimate hotel and exclusive-use retreat with a collection of restored cottages and, at its heart, a communal gathering point known as the Clachan.

From the restored lodge, Hope offers an inclusive stay where every element is curated, from daily guided adventures and wellness rituals to food, drinks, facilities and equipment.

Guests are invited to immerse themselves completely, to embrace the changing seasons and terrain, and to connect with the community who live and work here – all guided by a deep respect for the historical, cultural, and environmental context of the Scottish Highlands.

Stay

Hope Lodge

Hope Lodge houses seven bedrooms, each named in Gaelic to reflect qualities of light, beauty, soul and freedom, and is complemented by An Cala: an architecturally striking two bedroom cabin with private wood-fired hot tub set slightly apart in the forest, structured in glass, wood and copper. Designed for families or friends, An Cala offers both connection and privacy, with its own totally distinct character.

Adventure

The Clachan

The Clachan at Hope is where all stays begin. It’s where guests arrive, leave their journey behind and focus on their time at Hope.

A collection of stone buildings, the Clachan is home to the Steadings, which house treatment rooms, our gym and our adventure centre.

This is where conservation and activity experts lead guests into the epic landscapes of our 100,000-acre Sutherland estate – for wild swimming, wilder hikes, immersion in our regeneration work and adrenaline activities that make the most of the Highlands – before bringing you back to the warm heart of Hope.

Stay

Hope Cottages

Hope’s cottages are design-led retreats set at the northern end of Loch Hope where the River Hope begins, surrounded by scenic views as far as Ben Hope. Designed for relaxed gatherings and slow living, the cottages blend traditional Highland character with carefully considered contemporary comfort. Ferryman’s cottage has two bedrooms, while Keeper’s Cottage has three bedrooms. Each offers comfortable living spaces and plenty of private outdoor space.

Natural Daily Rhythms

Wild Adventures

At Hope, guests are brought back to the raw and rugged beauty
of the Highlands, providing the chance to immerse
themselves, reconnect with nature and experience life
changing, unforgettable moments that remind them of
what truly matters in life. Curated, daily rhythms of activities are designed to immerse you in nature and the surrounding landscapes.

Experience Regeneration
After 13 years of writing poems for his own amusement in commonplace books, in letters to friends or for delivery in pubs to riotous groups, Burns had finally got enough support to bring out a little published collection of his work; the Kilmarnock Edition as it is now known.
