A new way to experience the Highlands
Opening in May 2026, Hope is the latest chapter in our long-term vision to restore and protect Scotland’s most precious places.
Hope is a place to come together, surrounded by some of Scotland’s wildest landscapes. It is a place to head out and immerse yourself in raw nature. It is a place to gather, share stories and learn more about WildLand’s 200-year vision of regeneration. It is a blend of heritage architecture and nature-first design, of reimagined exploration and a warm, cosseting retreat. It is where the outside comes in, and where adventure is everywhere.
Hope takes its cues from the land itself. Days here have a simple rhythm: walking, foraging, swimming and spending unscheduled time with family and friends. Guests are guided through the Highlands, gaining a deeper understanding of the landscapes around them – their history, their fragility, and their renewal.
At Hope’s heart sits a restored 19th-century lodge, once a place of passage and now reimagined as a spot to simply pause and take in some of the UK’s wildest scenery. Around it, cottages and cabins are woven into the landscape, alongside the Clachan, a communal gathering space. Interiors are grounded and elemental: oak and tweed, flax and oilskin; materials that are tactile, sensory and warm.
Life at Hope is shaped by nature. You might wander along the coastline in the early morning light, or walk into the hills with a guide who knows every contour and current. There are moments of exhilaration, cold water and open horizons, to times when it’s simply about being still with sound baths, fireside meals and the quiet rhythm of being present. For those who wish to go further, there is the chance to take part in the work itself, from tree planting to restoration walks, and to learn more about what it takes to keep restoring the Highlands’ precious landscapes.
Although Hope is a chance to retreat from the world, we hope you’ll come away feeling more connected to the land, sea and air of the Highlands. This is a way of exploring that feels slower, more considered and focused on meaningful moments. Hope offers a different kind of Highland stay. One rooted in stewardship, shaped by place and open to those curious enough to experience it.
