Your Space

Set among picturesque larch and Scots pine, Gatehouse Cottage is an idyllic hideaway for those in search of solitude with a touch of luxury. Featuring two comfortable bedrooms, a beautiful house bathroom, large well-equipped kitchen and a welcoming living-dining space, perfect for hosting drinks and evening gatherings.

With comfortable seating, bookshelves and an open fire, the living-dining room is the perfect space to serve pre-dinner drinks, or settle down with a good book. A peaceful night’s sleep awaits at the top of a spiral staircase, in one of two comfortable bedrooms.

A beautifully decorated house bathroom is also found on the top floor, with views into the surrounding trees and a free-standing bathtub perfect for long, relaxing soaks.

Food for the soul

Start each day with the perfect cup of coffee, made just the way you like it, or enjoy evening drinks and nibbles before heading out for dinner.

Rise early, wandering the estate gardens and loch shore in the morning light before returning for long, lazy breakfasts in the outdoor seating area. Natural light pours through the windows of the large, well-equipped kitchen, a beautiful space in which to prepare slow lunches. Spend evenings gathered under the open sky, preparing fresh, local produce on the barbecue, watching dusk fall between the branches of the trees.

Following long days of adventures, our chefs can also deliver a beautiful prepared cottage supper – ready to warm and enjoy whenever you’re ready.

Things to do

Time seems to slow down here. Spend your days exploring the surrounding wildlands then gather for long evenings of laughter and merriment, or spend rainy days warming your toes by the crackling fire.

Unique experiences & activities

From Gatehouse Cottage, begin an unhurried evening walk along the estate’s quieter paths, tracing the edges where woodland meets open fields. One of our team will guide you to a peaceful spot overlooking the loch, where a small basket of warm drinks and simple seasonal bites awaits. As the light softens and the estate quietens, this gentle twilight ritual becomes a calm way to arrive, settle and feel part of Aldourie’s landscape.
