Your Space

Made of stone and topped with slate, Keeper’s Cottage is wrapped by a wild garden with an outdoor dining table plus a firepit and cosy seating – the perfect spot for stargazing and enjoying evening drinks. 

Inside is a homely yet stylish patchwork of scented antique Scots pine, tactile tweed furnishings, local craft and plenty of spaces to simply stare at the boundless views. The spacious kitchen is a mosaic of wood and leads into a dining room and living area that share a welcoming double-sided open fireplace. A boot room offers the practicality of storage and a washer and dryer.

Upstairs three bedrooms are cosily ensconced in the eaves and clad in wood. Deep copper tubs in private bathrooms are the perfect finale to a day in the wild.

The large kitchen is equipped with everything you need to rustle up wholesome meals, in the freedom and flexibility of your own space. 

Welcoming you to Keeper’s Cottage, lovingly-made Highland essentials are waiting. Breakfast is a joy to prepare, as light streams into the wood-clad kitchen. After a day out adventuring in Sutherland’s vast landscapes, find pleasure in creating simple meals to savour in the cosy kitchen or by the fire in the dining room. On other evenings, our chefs can make a cottage supper for you that can be warmed in the Aga.

Sutherland’s endless horizons call to be explored. Right on your doorstep is Loch Hope, beyond it are majestic mountains, gushing burns, rolling glens and a rugged coastline, all set under a vast Highland sky.

A day at Keeper’s Cottage is a day sculpted around you. Depending on your inclinations, you may spend time by the loch: fishing, swimming and enjoying a picnic. The drama of the landscapes reveal hidden waterfalls and native woodland on gentle hikes or high-octane cycle rides. Coastal landscapes are where rare marine life resides, with the chance to paddleboard its calm, clear waters. Everywhere, WildLand’s crucial conservation work can be seen in action. End the day appreciating the quiet seclusion of your cottage, with a drink by the firepit, and a gentle acknowledgement of your time in Scotland’s most northerly point.

Cottage Details +

Keeper’s Cottage sleeps 6 guests across three bedrooms, each with a private bathroom. The open plan kitchen and living and dining room features a double-sided open fireplace with views across Loch Hope to the mountains beyond. There is a boot room with cloakroom, washing machine and dryer. Outdoors there is a large private garden with outdoor dining table, seating and a firepit.

What amenities are offered at Keeper's Cottage? +

Plenty of logs, firelights, kindling and matches.

Basic kitchen provisions of toilet paper, washing powder, dishwasher tablets and soap will be in your cottage on arrival, as well as some larder provisions to get you started: tea, coffee, milk, bread, jam, yoghurt, oil, salt and pepper, plus a BBQ for outdoor cooking. There is a coffee machine with coffee pods.

All bedlinen and towels are included, plus rather lovely toiletries including shower wash, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion.

There is a boot room with washer and dryer, iron and ironing board, plus laundry detergent. The kitchen comes equipped with a dishwasher.

Cots are available on request for wee ones.

E-bikes are also available to hire on request.

This cottage is dog friendly. Please do let us know if you plan on bringing your dog.

You can enjoy your cottage from 4pm on the day of arrival. We kindly ask that you depart by 10am on your final day.
