Stay

Our Rooms

Lundies House is a thoughtfully restored 19th-century manse where Scottish heritage and Scandinavian design sit in quiet harmony. Downstairs, warm communal rooms – the lounge, study and atmospheric dining room – invite reading, conversation and shared meals.

Upstairs, spacious ensuite bedrooms offer soft palettes, handcrafted details and views across the Kyle of Tongue. Beyond the herb garden, the converted steadings hold studio rooms, a self-catered apartment and a calm courtyard, with a stream and hidden Nymph Pool completing this gentle, restorative place.

Our Food

Food at Lundies is shaped by the wild north coast — its seasons, its shores, and the calm rhythm of the land. Our kitchen team cooks with care, creating dishes that feel rooted in place and thoughtful in every detail.

The Lundies Kitchen

The rugged landscape around Lundies inspires everything we cook. Local produce from sea and land is paired with ingredients foraged from nearby shores and woodlands, each one chosen with purpose.

In the kitchen, these humble elements are quietly elevated into a three-course dinner served by candlelight. The cooking is ambitious yet restrained, with every dish thoughtfully plated on bespoke ceramics by Scottish maker Cara Guthrie and Danish artisans Aage and Kasper Wurtz.

Wine & Daily Rhythm

Sustainability guides our wine list, featuring natural, often organic and biodynamic bottles from small, characterful producers, alongside a few carefully selected classics.

Mornings begin gently with a nourishing breakfast served in soft daylight, setting a calm tone for the day ahead. Guests can also pre-order a hearty packed lunch – simple, sustaining food designed for time in the elements and long explorations along the north coast.

Things To Do

Life at Lundies unfolds at a gentle pace, shaped by the landscape just beyond the door.

At Lundies House

Borrow e-bikes to trace quiet coastal roads, take a refreshing plunge in the Nymph Pool, or settle into morning yoga to welcome the day. Wild swims, shoreline wanders and peaceful moments in the garden invite a deeper sense of wellbeing. For complete relaxation, our team can also arrange massages, bringing calm and restoration into your time at Lundies.

In the Area

The village of Tongue offers an ideal base for exploring the wild north coast. Climb nearby hills, including Ben Hope, or follow the gentle path to Castle Varrich for sweeping views of the Kyle. Along the coast, sandy beaches offer solitude, surf and quiet bays for swimming or paddleboarding. At Talmine, coasteering and board hire can be arranged for all experience levels. Bring boots and warm layers.

Gatherings

A PLACE FOR ANY OCCASION

The restored steadings form a sheltered courtyard edged with birch and woodland flowers, centred around a striking Feuerring fire pit. It’s a natural gathering place for seasonal drinks and easy conversation, especially during the long, light evenings of the northern summer.

This is a place to feel the rhythms of nature and find a deep connection with a raw and unspoilt landscape. A world away from the hectic pace of modern life, Lundies House gently coaxes you to unwind and be taken care of, in this beautifully wild corner of the world.
