“Something special happens when you come upon the wilderness of Sutherland. We're humbled to protect and share this unforgettable place with you all.
Stay

Our Rooms

Gather together in front of the fire, or find yourself a quiet sitting room for a game of chess or the Sunday papers. Here, cosiness comes first: with deep sofas to sink into. Perfectly accommodating 12 guests with ample space for everyone to unwind and feel at home.

Seven bedrooms, in the quiet palettes of Scottish nature. Furnishings are hand-crafted for comfort and charm, and rooms are designed around the ever-evolving landscapes outside. Here, rest comes naturally.

The food we share

Meals at Kinloch bring the outside in, with seasonal ingredients found in the natural abundance of the estate and beyond. Much of our produce is foraged and cultivated according to nature’s calendar, and rich with wild flavour.

A story of seasonality

“Growing produce sustainably doesn’t just protect our ecosystems, it ensures fuller, wilder flavours. Much of our ingredients are grown on the estate or by our neighbours, who share our beliefs about nurturing the land that feeds us.”

Kinloch brings people together

Kinloch brings people together to eat wonderful food in extraordinary surroundings. Our dining areas are relaxed, sociable and full of atmosphere; mealtimes here are highly memorable.

Sourced in Sutherland

In Sutherland, we’re bordered by oceans, lochs, forest and farmland. This gives us a rich array of seafood, fish, wild produce and local flavour to bring to the table. We find and forage as much as we can from our surrounding lands and wild landscapes – knowing it makes for the best possible ingredients.

Things to do

Kinloch is surrounded by forests, rivers, lochs and mountains. You can plunge into cold waters, fish rivers, walk mountainsides and roam as far as the eye can see. We can plan tailored experiences for you and your group, or you can see which bit of nature calls you when you arrive. It’s all there for the taking.

At Kinloch Lodge

Find the hot sauna yurt and cool plunge pool we’ve set in a secret spot. Take an icy dip surrounded by bracken, overlooking the River Kinloch – then revive in the heat. It’s a tonic for the body and the soul.

In the area

Nothing is more restorative than true connection to nature. Cold water swim; or forest bathe. Walk mountains, or run meadows. Then wind down with a view of it all, at yoga sessions in our home studio. Get in touch before your visit, and we’ll create a bespoke itinerary together.

Stay

Our Rooms

Lundies House is a thoughtfully restored 19th-century manse where Scottish heritage and Scandinavian design sit in quiet harmony. Downstairs, warm communal rooms – the lounge, study and atmospheric dining room – invite reading, conversation and shared meals.

Upstairs, spacious ensuite bedrooms offer soft palettes, handcrafted details and views across the Kyle of Tongue. Beyond the herb garden, the converted steadings hold studio rooms, a self-catered apartment and a calm courtyard, with a stream and hidden Nymph Pool completing this gentle, restorative place.

Our Food

Food at Lundies is shaped by the wild north coast — its seasons, its shores, and the calm rhythm of the land. Our kitchen team cooks with care, creating dishes that feel rooted in place and thoughtful in every detail.

The Lundies Kitchen

The rugged landscape around Lundies inspires everything we cook. Local produce from sea and land is paired with ingredients foraged from nearby shores and woodlands, each one chosen with purpose.

In the kitchen, these humble elements are quietly elevated into a three-course dinner served by candlelight. The cooking is ambitious yet restrained, with every dish thoughtfully plated on bespoke ceramics by Scottish maker Cara Guthrie and Danish artisans Aage and Kasper Wurtz.

Wine & Daily Rhythm

Sustainability guides our wine list, featuring natural, often organic and biodynamic bottles from small, characterful producers, alongside a few carefully selected classics.

Mornings begin gently with a nourishing breakfast served in soft daylight, setting a calm tone for the day ahead. Guests can also pre-order a hearty packed lunch – simple, sustaining food designed for time in the elements and long explorations along the north coast.

Things To Do

Life at Lundies unfolds at a gentle pace, shaped by the landscape just beyond the door.

At Lundies House

Borrow e-bikes to trace quiet coastal roads, take a refreshing plunge in the Nymph Pool, or settle into morning yoga to welcome the day. Wild swims, shoreline wanders and peaceful moments in the garden invite a deeper sense of wellbeing. For complete relaxation, our team can also arrange massages, bringing calm and restoration into your time at Lundies.

The cottage has three double rooms, a shared bathroom, a living room with a wood-burning stove, and a well-equipped kitchen with a utility room and a washing machine.

Food for the soul

Foulain Cottage is a self-catering retreat with a well-equipped kitchen designed for easy, unhurried cooking after days spent outdoors.

Step outside and you’ll find space to barbecue, linger over simple meals, and sit for a while as the light shifts across the loch. It’s a gentle spot to slow down, savour the stillness, and feel part of the landscape as it changes through the day.

Things to do

For an additional charge, we can arrange a boat on Loch Hope or two rods on the Polla. Please get in touch in advance of your stay to enquire about availability.

Near Foulain Cottage, the wild north coast opens up in its own unhurried way. Follow the line of the NC500 as it curves around Loch Eriboll, pause at Lotte Glob’s sculpture croft where art and landscape meet, or wander the shores of the loch itself, watching weather and light shift across the water.
